Gound Beef Cutlet Burgers

Published on December 15, 2021

What is more delicious and healthier than a homemade ground beef cutlet patty burger? They are so easy and only take 45 minutes to make.

Yesterday we had a dinner party at our place, and my husband suggested beef cutlets for dinner. Since our friends are all fast foodies, I adjusted the original mom recipe and made some cutlet burgers. I couldn’t believe the result; they became even yummier than I had in mind!

I didn’t want to enjoy them only by myself, so I thought of sharing the ultimate recipe with you guys! Here we go.

Ingredients

Other Ingredients

  • 2 eggs beaten
  • some cornflakes or breadcrumbs
  • some oil to pan fry

For making Burgers

  • A few lettuce, tomato, pickled jalapeños, olives, hummus or mayo, mustard

Instructions

  • Cook the potatoes in boiling water or the microwave until fork tender.
  • Heat the oil in a broad, wide pan over medium heat.
  • Sauté the onion and a few pinches of salt until translucent. I used a food processor to chop the onions finely.
  • Add the ginger-garlic paste and cook for a few minutes, or until the onions turn light golden.
  • Cook until the pink colour has faded from the ground meat, breaking up the lumps.
  • Garam masala, coriander powder, fennel powder, ground cumin, chilli powder, ground pepper, and salt are all good additions.
  • Cook for a few minutes after thoroughly combining all of the ingredients.
  • Break up the boiled potatoes and mix them in with the ground meat. Potatoes should be mashed into the meat.
  • Cook for a minute after adding the cilantro.
  • Taste and season with salt to taste.
  • Remove the pan from the heat and set it aside to cool.
  • Combine the ground beef mixture with your hands, breaking up any potato lumps and smoothing it down.
  • Take a handful of the mixture and shape it into flat patties on a dish. Refrigerate the patties for 30 minutes before serving.
  • You may prepare the patties the day before and put them in a plastic container in the fridge overnight.
  • Remove the patties from the refrigerator and set them aside for a few minutes.
  • In a mixing dish, whisk together the eggs.
  • On a dish, prepare the cornflake crumbs or bread crumbs. I used corn flake crumbs instead of bread crumbs to make the cutlets crispier.
  • Heat enough oil in a frying pan to pan cook the cutlets. Deep-frying the cutlets is an option if desired.
  • When the oil is heated, dip the ground beef patties in the egg, then equally coat with breadcrumbs or cornflake crumbs.
  • Place the cutlets in oil and pan fry till both sides turn golden in color.
  • Transfer to a paper towel.
  • To keep the cutlets warm, place them in an aluminium foil pan, cover them with aluminium foil and keep it in the oven till you serve.
  • You could serve the ground beef cutlets as it is or turn that into patties for burgers.
  • Spread the buns with hummus or mayo, place the cutlet, top with lettuce, tomato olives, jalapeño and cheese. Serve immediately and enjoy the homemade burgers.
