Raw Peanuts FAQ
How do you store raw peanuts?
Seal the peanuts in an airtight container like a sealable plastic freezer bag or tub. Peanuts come with their own little containers; for maximum shelf life, keep them in their shells. Unshelled peanuts stored in a pantry should last for one to two months, while peanuts without shells can go bad within a few weeks.
Are these gluten free?
Nuts in their pure form are gluten-free. This includes peanuts, almonds, pecans, macadamia nuts, walnuts, pine nuts, pistachios, cashews, Brazil nuts and all other natural nuts.
Are they really raw, so I can boil them or are they already cooked?
They really are raw & you can boil them but know that the red skin is on them & will come off when boiled.
Are raw peanuts better for you than roasted?
Raw peanuts will have a different taste from roasted ones, but a comparable fat content. One item of interest is a study in the October 2000 issue of the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, which reported that raw peanuts provoked less of an allergic response in sensitive individuals than roasted peanuts.
Are peanuts keto?
Peanuts are legumes, which are generally not acceptable in the keto diet since they tend to be high in sugars. Additionally, peanuts have a different fat content than true nuts. While nuts like almonds and pecans are high in omega-3 fatty acids, peanuts are not.
