Slivered almond kernels are almonds kernels that have been slivered and sliced into small strips (slivers). They are much more efficient than chopped almonds. So now you can boost any dish with a sprinkle of delicious almond magic!

Our Slivered almond kernels are famous for their delicate flavour and nourishing soft crunch. The white nutmeat of almonds can substitute for cashews or pine nuts in a variety of applications. We take organic almonds and roast, sliver, and slice them to create the crunchy, rich flavour for Slivered almond kernels.

Slivered Almonds FAQ

Recipe I have for almond paste calls for blanched slivered almonds. Do I need to blanch these even though there is no skin?

No, these are ready to use as the skin is already removed during process of blanching almonds.

Is this item gluten free?

Nuts in their pure form are gluten-free. This includes peanuts, almonds, pecans, macadamia nuts, walnuts, pine nuts, pistachios, cashews, Brazil nuts and all other natural nuts.

Is this almond organic?

No, the USDA pasteurization laws require nut growers and processors to steam-heat raw almonds to pasteurize them. If you want raw organic almonds, you can still buy unpasteurized almonds in person, directly from the grower.

Can you store in the freezer or fridge?

Almonds should be stored in an airtight container and it's best to store them in the refrigerator or freezer. It's not recommended that they are stored at room temperature for periods of time, so your pantry is not a good idea.
