  1. Awful, waste of money. Please note this isn’t an EXTRACT of anything and is now labelled Maple Flavouring. It’s basically (less than) half strength maple syrup; weak with poor flavour. Basically 45ml of diluted maple syrup for $7.90

General Information

Maple Flavouring is a concentrated, flavourful liquid extracted from oils within maple trees, processed into a maple flavouring with an alcohol base.

Recipes for certain glazes, frostings, and icings may call for this flavouring. Maple flavouring can be used to add flavour to candy, beverages, speciality dishes, baked goods, and desserts.

Maple flavouring can also be substituted for vanilla flavouring in recipes such as cookie doughs and fillings. Outside the kitchen, maple flavouring may be used as a fragrance component in beauty products like exfoliating body polish, lip plumping products, and micro-mini peel systems.

Best ways to use

Maple flavouring has the flavour perhaps made most famous by Maple Syrup. It works great to add a touch of maple to glazes, frostings, icings, and cakes. Maple flavouring can also be substituted for vanilla flavouring in recipes such as cookie doughs and fillings to add some variety to your recipes. Especially tasty in oatmeal raisin cookies.


As with other flavourings, like vanilla, almond, and peppermint, maple flavouring will keep for up to a year if capped tightly and stored in a cool, dry place.
