Nutrition and Health Benefit

Dates may be considered as perfect food, providing a broad range of vital nutrients and potential health advantages. Dates exceed all FDA criteria for a “healthy” health claim. Through extensive research in different universities around the world, it was found that Dates are a fabulous source of:[1]
  • Iron
  • Magnesium
  • Potassium
  • Calcium and Phosphorous
  • Boron
  • Seven minerals
  • Good source of fiber

Dates provide more than 12% of the suggested daily value for fiber (3 grams) in only 1/4 cup (40g) serving. The insoluble fiber in dates presents excellent roughage to flush out your digestive tract. Date fiber can be an outstanding source of dietary fiber that can be applied as an ingredient with excellent practical properties — 84-94 % insoluble fiber. Serving suggestions

The serving size for dates is 1/4 cup or about five dates a day, but if you're concerned about the natural sugar, we suggest eating one or two at a time. Dates can be savored as is, but you will find them even more talented in the kitchen. Dry or fresh dates can be consumed in their raw form or may be stuffed, or chopped to use in cereals, puddings, ice cream, bread, cakes, cookies, and candy bars. Since production is so high, surplus dates can be made into paste, cubes, spread, powder (date sugar), jelly, jam, syrup, vinegar, and alcohol.

How Dates are harvested

Most dates are harvested at the fully-ripe "Rutab" (light-brown and soft) and "Tamar" (dark brown and soft, semidry, or dry) grades, when they have much higher levels of sugars, lower contents of moisture and tannins, and are softer than the "Khalal" stage dates. Moisture contents of Khalil, Rutab, and Tamar dates range from 45-65, 30- 45, and <30%, respectively.

Storage

Store and keep dates in an air-tight container in the refrigerator for more than three months. Dates can also be stored in the freezer. If you go this way, we recommend storing it in small amounts, such as Tablespoon portions in an ice cube plate. Once frozen, remove the cubes and store them in a resealable bag.[3] Our Date is collected from 100% natural date, which is cleaned & pitted, pieces are extruded through a series of exemplary screen. Date fruits pass through the process of separation of calyx and seeds, washing, drying, moisturizing, polishing, pressing, cooling, grading, and packing. These are the significant production steps.

Allergy

Allergy is a reaction by your immune system to something that does not trouble other people (an unusual immune response to the proteins found in vegetables and fruit). People who have allergies are usually sensitive to more than one item. Date is one of the perfect foods because it is rich in excellent nutrients, vitamins, antioxidants, fibers, and minerals; therefore, helps and treats some diseases. However, this fruit can cause many difficulties for those who have date allergies. Most reactions are limited to itching and inflammation in the mouth and throat, but others can experience more critical symptoms, in general, there are three types of dried date fruit allergy:

Pitted Dates FAQ

Are your dates sulfite free?

Almost all dark fruits are sulfite free. The whole reason for using sulfites on dried fruit is to maintain light colors. Since dates are naturally dark there would be no reason to treat them. Besides, all our dried fruit products are natural with no added sugar or sulfur and chemicals.

Are these Medjool?

No, these are different type.

How do you store them after opening?

Dried dates can be refrigerated for a year, or frozen for as long as 5 years. Store dates in an airtight container or resealable plastic bag, and label the bag with the date you bought them.

Are they the most recent crop of dates?

They are from the fresh crop of the year.
