Sweet and sour pomegranate syrup is a blend of several pomegranate varieties grown in the Mudgee region of NSW. The pomegranate juice is extracted from a traditional cold pressing method. This process preserves the natural juice flavours, aromas and colour; while minimising the extraction of a bitter and astringent taste of the pomegranate pith and peal. This product contains no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.
General Information
Pomegranate syrup is a thick, dark, honey-like syrup popular in Asian and Mediterranean cuisines. It is made from boiling down the pomegranate juice, which is extracted from fresh pomegranate seeds. Usually, other ingredients such as sugar and citric acid are also added to the pomegranate juice before boiling. Pomegranate syrup is usually offered in two varieties of sweet pomegranate syrup and sweet and sour pomegranate syrup.
